Accused season 2 episode 2 preview: "April's Story" is a tale of disastrous road rage starring Taylor Schilling
By Sabrina Reed
Accused is back with its second season on FOX. The anthology series kicked off its sophomore run with "Lorraine's Story," which saw Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy in a tale about a psychic medium who tries to help a family whose son is missing. For Oct. 15's episode, the crime drama will be a little less about peering into the unknown for answers and hit closer to home. I'm talking about road rage!
Whether you've experienced a touch of frustration while driving or have been so overcome with anger at a fellow driver that you've nearly found yourself behind bars, I think anyone who has operated a vehicle can relate to "April's Story." Though, as you can see from the promo below, this episode veers into territory similar to Netflix's Beef.
Accused season 2 episode 2 cast and synopsis
Cast: Taylor Schilling, Justin Chambers, and Danny Pino
Synopsis: A nurse faces the consequences when road rage gets the best of her.
"April's Story" is led by Taylor Schilling, who's best known for her starring role as Piper Chapman in Orange is the New Black. Here, she plays the eponymous character who happens to be a highly stressed nurse. The incident that lands her in front of a judge gets its start in a cramped parking lot. You know the kind. The ones were you've got to squeeze yourself out of your car like you're Flat Stanley and pray you don't hit your neighbor's door. Unfortunately for April, she does.
What doesn't help matters is that the man (Justin Chambers) whose vehicle she accidentally hit, doesn't take well to her trying to downplay the situation. Coffee in hand, she reaches out with the bottom of her shirt to wipe at the door like it's dirt and not a dent they're both looking at. Clearly, things get out of hand in the parking lot because she drives away, likely without exchanging insurance information, and he is furious.
At first, April is the victim of his out of control anger as he's in hot pursuit of her car and driving recklessly. But her temper gets away from her as well. She had told her son that she has big feelings just like he does, however, hers have her in hot water. See, when she gave the man a taste of his own medicine, she wound up ramming into the back of his car and flipping it. The promo doesn't give away whether he lives or dies but Danny Pino, who presumably plays April's husband, is seen hugging her as she breaks down, so it's definitely not looking good for her.
"April's Story" airs Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. Stay tuned to Americans Undercover for more Accused coverage. Follow us on X and Facebook!
