FBI: Most Wanted showrunner provides exciting update about upcoming FBI crossover
The FBI franchise has been on a roll with new episodes of their seasons as television came back for the fall. With minor appearances from actress Alana De La Garza on two out of the three shows, does this mean we might get another crossover between all three shows?
We usually get the chance to see at least one or two characters from FBI appear on the other shows, especially now that Agent Stuart Scola’s girlfriend Nina Chase is on FBI: Most Wanted. Plus, the most recent episode of FBI: Most Wanted saw an appearance from De La Garza as the team dealt with an abduction that involved cyberbullying.
We haven’t seen her on FBI: International since the big crossover between all three shows, but that doesn’t mean there’s no chance of seeing her at all!
After the success of the three-show crossover event, we would love to see all three teams working together on a case again! The last crossover, which aired in early 2023, involved the teams looking into an abduction that eventually led to the threat of a terrorist attack.
Chase became critically injured after a shooting, which threatened the lives of herself and her unborn son with Boyd. Luckily, they both survived and now she is working with the Most Wanted team while raising their son together.
David Hudgins, who is the showrunner on Most Wanted, told TV Insider that while it is “challenging” to coordinate schedules for three different types of cast and crew, they are always ready to do a crossover. He said that if another three-show crossover event were to air, it would likely take place in the spring.
This was also confirmed by FBI’s Mike Weiss, who mentioned that having the FBI: International team in various parts of the world would lead to fun opportunities for the other cast members who are usually kept in one part of the world.
So even though there are no set plans for a crossover, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen!
Since there are plenty of new dynamics unfolding, especially with cast exits on both FBI and FBI: International, it would be a great way to explore how the team works together with new characters in play.
Hopefully, if there is another three-show crossover in the future, we get to see it sooner rather than later! You can still watch all three shows to catch other possible cast appearances on each of them even if we won’t always see them overlap.
The FBI franchise airs Tuesdays on CBS beginning with FBI at 8/9c.
