Fans of NCIS can breathe a sigh of relief. We know that Katrina Law is here to stay on the show! At least, according to the trailer, she will be involved in the first episode. Will she rejoin the team, however?

At the end of season 21, there was worry that Law was leaving the show due to a job opportunity that came up for Agent Jessica Knight. Before she officially joined the team, she had applied to become a REACT training officer in the wake of the death of her REACT team during a case.

In the season 21 finale, Director Leon Vance told her that there was a position available for her to take if she wanted. Even though she hesitated due to being with the team and in a relationship with Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer, it was obvious that she did want to take the job. This left her spot on the show in limbo. When the season ended, it was some time before fans got some hints that she might come back.

When photos were released for the new season, Agent Knight was seen, meaning we would see her at some point in season 22.

The NCIS season 22 trailer confirmed she would be part of the show’s first episode, from what we can tell. Previous interviews have teased how Jessica becomes entangled with her old team again. This will come about due to some things that happen while she is working on a case in her role as a trainer.

She lands in trouble due to her job and it looks like  Agent Alden Parker comes to her aide. So while this confirms she is still on the show itself, we don’t know if or when she will rejoin the rest of the agents. Plus, it was also reported that fans of the pairing between Knight and Palmer would see the former couple figure out if they did want to get back together. While we will get an answer in this case, it's another story entirely for the team.

Unfortunately, it looks like the team is fractured, with Nick going rogue and McGee possibly taking a job offer elsewhere as a Deputy Director. It wouldn’t be NCIS without the entire team together, so hopefully things take a turn for the better!

NCIS season 22 will confirm the answers to our questions regarding Agent Knight and the rest of the crew when it returns on Monday, Oct. 14 at 8/7c. It will move to its 9 p.m. EST time slot the following week on Oct. 21.
