New rumor suggests The Night Agent season 2 is coming to Netflix in November

With filming complete and post-production coming to an end, anticipation for the second season of The Night Agent is quickly growing, and according to a new rumor, we might not have to wait too much longer before the show returns! 

As Show Snob first reported, it’s looking like the highly anticipated second season will debut in November, a release window teased by the show itself. 

On Sept. 2, 2024, the official Instagram page for The Night Agent shared a fun video compilation that pieced together clips of the show’s lead Gabriel Basso’s Agent Peter Sutherland. While the video itself did not contain any major spoilers as the clips were all from the show’s first season, the account seemed to drop a MAJOR announcement in the comments of the post which hinted at the show’s return coming sooner than expected. 

When replying to a fan’s inquiry into whether season 2 was approaching “really really” fast or just approaching, The Night Agent account responded that “November is the anticipated release.” Interestingly, the comment has since been deleted, but you can view the thread below courtesy of a screencap of the conversation that unfolded on the post: 

At this time, Netflix has yet to confirm when The Night Agent will be returning for season 2; however, there had been speculation that the season would be released in 2024 and with the year quickly coming to an end, November or December seem like the most likely release windows for the show. Although the comment has been deleted, the fact that the show’s official account did reveal that the expected release window is November aligns with the long-rumored release window and a November release would make sense. 

While Netflix has confirmed a lot of big releases for both October and December, November doesn’t currently have as many high-profile releases on the slate so dropping The Night Agent sometime in November would make sense. Netflix tends to release a big show around the Thanksgiving holiday, so perhaps The Night Agent will be this year’s pre-Thanksgiving release with the show potentially dropping the week before Thanksgiving or even on Thanksgiving in hopes of capitalizing on the holiday weekend when many viewers have extra time on their hands and are looking for something new to enjoy. 

Interestingly, there have been some rumors hinting that the show might be delayed to 2025. Those rumors started in July when Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos excluded The Night Agent from the list of shows he read through on an earnings call promoting shows still to come in 2024. The exclusion of The Night Agent from that list left some wondering whether the show had been delayed to 2025, which could still be a possibility. 

Regardless of when the new season ends up releasing, we know we can’t wait to see what adventures await Peter next and where the story goes after the show’s breakout first season!
