Yes, Forrester has left FBI: International, and here's why
As fans gear for the return of FBI: International, they will do so with the knowledge that there have been some cast changes. Namely, one surprising exit came in the form of Luke Kleintank, who played Special Agent Scott Forrester since the show premiered in 2021. What was the reason for his exit?
In the show, Scott’s mother was a double agent for the government and had disappeared before eventually sending a message to her son. This led him to disappear as the team tried to track down his whereabouts. Even though they thought they found her, this wasn't. The season 3 finale focused on the team's attempts to not only figure out how to help the woman who claimed to be Forrester's mother but also to find him without getting in trouble with their bosses.
While they did eventually figure out he was in Alaska with his mother before the end of the finale, they decided not to reveal their whereabouts to the Deputy Director. It would allow Forrester and his mother to settle down and move forward after so many years.
Plus, in the likelihood that fans could see Kleintank again, this would allow Forrester to remain off-screen and not be killed off, which could mean that one day fans might get to see the Fly Team cross paths with their former boss. This might be difficult though since he had to essentially disappear from the FBI and be unable to rejoin the team.
Why did Luke Kleintank leave FBI: International?
However, the possibility of seeing him one day could all depend on Kleintank, who had personal reasons for leaving FBI: International.
Kleintank and his wife have a young daughter together and he wanted to be able to spend more time with them. Since filming took them all over the world, such as Prague, France, and Budapest, it meant he didn’t have as much time with his family.
Even though he will be missed on the show, we wish him the best. Maybe one day he might make an appearance on the show to give us a glimpse into how Forrester is doing.
Season 4 will look different without Forrester, especially since he was not the only cast exit for the series. But we will get to meet new agents in the form of Supervisory Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell, played by Chicago PD actor Jesse Lee Soffer, and Agent Tyler Booth, played by Jay Hayden from Station 19.
The season 4 premiere of FBI: International will air on Tuesday, October 16 at 9/8c on CBS.
