The Irrational kicked off season 2 by answering the big question of whether Alec was able to save Rose or not! Find out more here!

The Irrational season 2 picked up with Alec sharing stories with his class and meeting with Phoebe (who seemed to hint her new job wasn’t going so well). Alec went to meet Rose for dinner but, when she didn’t show up, he realized something was wrong. A check of her home confirmed her abduction, so Alec called the team for help.

Rose was trying to tell her kidnapper, Gavin, that he had the wrong person, but he’d already abducted her former MI6 handler, Harry. He forced Rose to confess how, years before, she’d gotten Gavin’s wife, Fiona, involved in an operation that went badly, and Fiona ended up being collateral damage. Gavin thanked Rose for her honesty before shooting Harry.

After using his tricks to get a suspect in the kidnapping to confess to helping Gavin, Alec checked his place out. He also had Rizwan do a “test” with students involving being shot with paintballs to confirm Gavin was too consumed by revenge to back down.

Alec realized he was being followed by Gavin’s men and told Rizwan he was going to let himself be taken to get to Rose before he was stuffed into a van.

Did Alec save Rose in The Irrational season 2 premiere?

Gavin threatened to kill Alec to make Rose suffer as she confessed Fiona was working for her, and she gave the order to fire that ended up killing his wife. By now losing it, Gavin also threatened to shoot up a British school. Alec offered to have Marisa tape Rose’s confession but this was just a trick by Alec so the FBI could trace the phone.

Alec tried to talk Gavin down as their abductor drove them to the school. Rose then revealed that Fiona had volunteered for the whole thing because Gavin was abusing her and she was planning on getting away from him. An outraged Gavin attacked her, and they scuffled, but luckily, the FBI had shown up with a sniper taking Gavin out.

Later, Alec found Rose at her home packing up for a job in Dubai. She apologized for what happened, relating this wasn’t the only dark moment from her past. She said if Alec knew all she’d done “for queen and country,” he’d hate her. Alec kissed her and assured her he wouldn’t.

So Rose is safe, although it’s up in the air if she and Alec can continue while The Irrational picks up season 2 at a fast pace.
