FBI season 7 episode 1, "Abandoned," was quite the premiere but the episode also served as a farewell for Katherine Renee Kane who was announced as leaving the series ahead of its return. An in-depth explanation for her departure wasn't given, however, Kane did say, "It was time to look towards new creative endeavors. I’m excited for the future and wish the show all the best."

What's helped soothe fans is that it was confirmed that Kane's character Special Agent Tiffany Wallace wouldn't be written out off-screen. Not only would she make an appearance in the premiere but the synopsis also gave away why Tiffany is leaving. Last season she struggled with the murder of Special Agent Hobbs while they were out in the field. Though season 6 ended with her confronting Hakim, the man who killed Hobbs, and shooting him, his death didn't bring her the closure she thought it would.

So how was Tiffany written out? Here's what happened in "Abandoned."

Tiffany Wallace decides to leave the FBI in the season 7 premiere

"Abandoned" takes place during Tiffany's last day at the FBI. As they're investigating a bombing that took out a plumber, which quickly spirals into a case with plenty of twists and turns including the involvement of the CIA, Scola feels her out on deciding to take a step back instead of leaving the Bureau all together. But Tiffany stands firm on her choice stating that a partner who doesn't want to be in the field anymore is dangerous.

Scola, however, was thankful that Tiffany didn't decide to call in sick. As they were trying to save a woman named Nadia and her daughter who were being targeted by the same assassins that killed her husband and his best friend, Scola was stabbed. Tiffany was there to help him, making a tourniquet with her belt to stave off the bleeding.

Tiffany's last scene took place at the hospital after Scola was stable. She left when OA Zidan and Maggie Bell arrived, saying her goodbyes and promising to stay in touch. Maggie asked her why she'd decided to leave the Bureau and it's because she thought Hakim being gone would bring her the closure she needed to continue working as an agent but it didn't. She recognized that what she actually needs in order to take care of herself is quiet so she's moving to Georgia. Her sister has an eatery there, it'll be a slower paced life but it'll be good for her.

An on-screen exit is exactly what fans wanted for Katherine Renee Kane but her absence on FBI will surely be felt. Stay tuned to Americans Undercover for more coverage. Follow us on X and Facebook for more content.
