5 international action and crime movies coming to Netflix in 2025

Netflix always has a lot in store for its subscriber base with a rotation of new originals, licensed titles, and the return of series that viewers love. We can also count on a roster of international offerings that hit the spot when we're looking to tune into stories from across the pond and beyond.
The streamer just released its slate of international films set to make their way to the platform in 2025. Among the list is at least 5 movies that'll satisfy your craving for action-packed content or an investigation into compelling case work. Here's which movies should be on your radar!
New international movies coming to Netflix (2025)
Ad Vitam
Country: France
Release date: Jan. 10, 2025
Cast: Guillaume Canet, Stéphane Caillard, Nassim Lyes, Zita Hanrot, Johan Heldenbergh, and Alexis Manenti
Franck Lazarev has one goal, finding his wife, Léo. While he managed to escape a mysterious group of armed men who'd tried to kill him, they did succeed in kidnapping her. All of this goes back to his time in the GIGN, the French Elite Intervention Squad. He's no longer a member but his past is now coming back to haunt him as he, and by extension Léo, are pulled into a state affair that's way outside of his control.
Bullet Train Explosion
Country: Japan
Cast: Tsuyoshi Kusanagi
Just in time for the 50th anniversary of Bullet Train, a reboot of the 1975 film is underway. The original focused on a bomb threat. If the train didn't keep above 80 km/h it would explode unless a ransom was paid. For the police, it's a race against the clock to track down the bombers and figure out how to defuse the explosive before it's too late.
Mantis (working title)
Country: South Korea
Cast: Yim Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, Jo Woo-jin
The movie, which is a spin-off of Kill Boksoon, follows Mantis, an assassin who was once a colleague of Gil Boksoon. He's been on vacation and when he returns its to find the contract killer industry collapsed and considered to be archaric. Despite this, Mantis does decide to reenter the profession and as he does he comes upon Jae-yi, his rival who he'd been a trainee with in the past, as well as Dok-go, a legend in the field who has come out of retirement. All three assassins soon realize that they're competing with each other to earn the top spot among the ranks of killers in the industry.
Revelations
Country: South Korea
Cast: Ryu Jun-yeol and Shin Hyun-been
Revelations centers on a missing persons case that a pastor and detective have a personal connection to. The pastor believes he has a divine calling to ensure the person responsible for the abduction is punished while the detective on the case finds herself seeing visions of her deceased sister as she investigates.
Un Fantasma En La Batalla
Country: Spain
Cast: Susana Abaitua, Andrés Gertrúdix, Iraia Elias, Raúl Arévalo and Ariadna Gil
Set in the '90s-'00s, and inspired by the Civil Guards' real life fight to stop terrorism, the movie follows Amaia, a civil guard who goes undercover in the ETA for over a decade in order to find the group's hideouts in the South of France.
