Jesse Lee Soffer has made his debut on FBI: International playing the skilled but hotheaded Supervisory Special Agent Wes Mitchell. Chaotic and prone to mixing it up, the speed Wes operates at will likely take some adjusting to for the Fly Team. Or at least for everyone who isn't Cameron Vo since he trained her in Seattle. The two have a rapport that's already caught the attention of fans, like myself, who are interested in the new dynamic on-screen.
Cameron's the one who encouraged Wes to petition to be their team lead in "A Leader, Not a Tourist," and when he asked her why she wasn't putting in for it, she stated she had neither the pay grade nor the rank plus she had more to learn. Though she made it clear it would only be a matter of time. There's a respect between the two that resonates.
Wes seems to have won over Raines and Amanda, but Smitty isn't a fan of his style though she's open to warming up to him. There's, however, one more member of the Fly Team that the loose cannon has to meet and FBI: International won't make us wait long for their introduction. I'm referring to Tank!
When does Tank appear in FBI: International season 4?
The team's beloved dog will be in season 4 episode 2, "The Other Hard Part," which airs Tuesday, Oct. 22. Soffer confirmed this in an interview with TV Insider where he shared how Tank feels about Wes.
"Tank gives Wes the okay I think in the second episode. He kind of signs off on Wes and is like, this guy’s all right. So hopefully that bodes well for Wes and the fans."
That's good news for Wes because if Tank was wary of him that'd have his team and the FBI: International fandom wary that there could be a game-changing plot twist on the horizon. CBS released a still of the scene where the two are introduced though it may take a moment to spot Tank (hint: he's between Raines and Wes).
"The Other Hard Part" is about a hostage situation. A U.S. ambassador, along with 70 civilians, are being held at a TV station in the Netherlands. It's a high stakes case, one that forces the Fly Team to move quickly as they assess what's happening and figure out what they're dealing with. The episode will also see Wes seeking to earn the team's respect.
The moment in the still, as showcased in a sneak peek, takes place when Wes is meeting up with Raines, Smitty, Cameron, and Amanda to let them know he's officially their team lead. Their previous supervisor, McKendrick, is off to the Honolulu station with no complaints much to their amusement.
In a move that certainly goes a way in endearing him to the team, Wes reinstates Tank to active duty. Their dog had been benched by McKendrick during his tenure. In the clip, Tank and Wes seem to get on like a house on fire as they should. If you don't like Tank, you shouldn't be on this team!
