What to watch in November 2024: Citadel: Honey Bunny, Red One, Cross and more!
By Sabrina Reed
Happy November...or should I say Spyvember? For whatever reason, streaming has conspired to drop a lot of spy content--along with other thrilling titles--this month, but we're certainly not complaining here at Americans Undercover.
Kicking things off is Citadel: Honey Bunny, the latest thriller in the franchise set to bring Prime Video subscribers on a wild and crazy ride. This time, we'll be dropped into a prequel as the series takes place in the '90s and follows the romance and then later estrangement of Nadia Sinh's parents.
From there Peacock is looking to steal attention with their remake of The Day of the Jackal but instead of a film, viewers will be treated to a 10 episode series that globe trots as a British intelligence officer goes after an international assassin. If you're looking to keep things closer to home Prime Video has a James Patterson adaptation set in D.C. that'll be right up your alley. Cross centers on a mystery that pulls its titular detective into a plot concerning a sadistic serial killer.
For the holly and jolly crowd who have some ho ho ho in their spirit but still want to see fists flying, check out Red One in theaters. It's PG-13, so the older kids can come along for the show and you'll get the peppermint sweetness of the holiday with a side of brawling with snowmen. Sometimes a lighter affair is what you need and A Man on the Inside falls in that category as well. I mean who doesn't want to see Ted Danson playing spy in a retirement home on the hunt for a missing family heirloom?
You can return to serious business dramas with Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin which is the lone historical title on the list. The movie follows the titular character, a man of faith who finds himself in a plot to kill Hilter. The Madness continues the trend with the nail-biting fare as an innocent media pundit gets tied up in a murder investigation.
Finally, there's The Agency, a remake of the French series The Bureau, that sees a spy wrestling with his mission and his heart as he tries to sort who he really is when he's not twisting himself into someone else while undercover. The series will take us into December with its 10 episode run.
Here's more on each movie and show to tune into this month!
